Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm in Richmond now

I hung out at Nick's house for a bit tonight. Disgusting Youtube videos happened.

Matt and I went to this monastery that had recreations of famous pilgrimage sites so that in the days before convenient world travel, people could trek to DC instead. We thought it would be like Vegas, but really it was just a fancy church.

Then we got his horse all fixed up.

Then Kendall couldn't decide what to make for dinner.

Protest of the School of the Americas

In a whirlwind trip to Georgia and back, I learned that the School of the Americas trains people who end up becoming dictators and military leaders in Latin America. There are a lot of Catholic people in this movement, so the entire thing was structured like a church service. Nobody got arrested and even though the cops had helicopters and paddy wagons ready, everyone just played their part.

Crazy Adventure

I flew to the East Coast for a little early for Thanksgiving. Anne got me from the airport.

She was going to Georgia this weekend to observe a protest for a paper she is writing. I went along. So I flew across the country and then the next day rode in a car for ten hours.

We gave these two hippies from a local commune a ride because they wanted to go and they didn't have a car.

The first night had programs and workshops. Tomorrow lots of these people might get arrested on purpose.

The first time I made tofu stir fry, it was amazing... I've never been able to re-capture that glory.
